Our investment strategy

It’s our job to invest member and employer contributions for the council. This helps us to fund the pensions that we pay now and those that we’ll be paying in the future. As long-term investors we invest in a range of assets to cover us against unpredictable market conditions. The asset classes that we invest in are:

• equities
• fixed income
• alternatives.
